IWC Porsche Design Ocean 2000, Titanium, Mid-1980s, Near Mint with Box & Papers
A rare chance to own one of the most important dive watches of the 1980s in condition that almost never surfaces. This titanium IWC Porsche Design Ocean 2000 was worn once when new, then returned to its box, where it has stayed ever since.
Launched in 1982, the Ocean 2000 was a collaboration between IWC and Ferdinand Alexander Porsche. It was water resistant to an astonishing 2,000 metres and was among the first watches made with a titanium case. Its clean, purposeful design and tool-watch credentials earned it a place with professional divers and military units, and it has since become a cult favourite with collectors. The case is lightweight, strong and corrosion-resistant, and its understated grey finish has aged into one of the defining looks of the era.
This example is in near-mint condition and comes with its original box and papers. Its full-length titanium bracelet has never been sized, which is especially important because complete original bracelets are increasingly hard to find.
Sold by Pilbrows Watchmakers, a family business since 1947, and backed by our 24-month guarantee.
A genuine time capsule for the serious collector.
